New Cosmos Electric Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that we have been chosen by a Northeast utility company in the United State as the supplier of methane detectors that will be deployed in support of their gas safety program. New Cosmos has been working with Itron, Inc. (Itron), an innovative communication network solutions provider for utility companies, to develop this first ever battery-operated methane detector with wireless communication. Our methane detector, ML-310 will be used to monitor their gas delivery infrastructure and enhance the safety to their customers.

The ML-310 is the first battery-powered methane detector with wireless communication ever released in the United States. The detector utilizes our proven hot wire semiconductor type gas sensor with MEMS technology and Itron Milli 5 network communication module. This sensor technology enables the product to operate at very low power and high quality for many years.

Alarm functions of ML-310 are audible (sound and beep), visible and wireless message at 10%LEL which is equivalent to CH4 5,000ppm.
The ML-310 has a self-diagnostic function to check the device status including battery and sensor failure every day. The ML-310 is easily installed, has low running cost and does not require calibration.
